Cold air masses are moving towards Moldova. Highs drop from 20 to 7 degrees Celsius

Meteorologists warn that it is getting considerably colder due to cold air masses approaching Moldova. From Sunday until the end of next week, temperatures will remain low. Precipitation in the form of rain or sleet is expected and there is a risk of frost on the ground.

Ghenadii Rosca, the head of the Meteorological Forecast Department, told IPN that temperatures will drop sharply over the weekend. From highs of 20 degrees Celsius, which will be recorded on Saturday, it will reach 7-10 degrees Celsius.

"With the ingress of cold air masses from the northern areas, precipitation is also expected, on Saturday - in the form of rain, with intensified winds and thunderstorms, and after April 6 - in the form of sleet," Ghenadii Rosca added.

The weather will remain cold until April 10-11. During this period, night temperatures will be between -3 and 3 degrees Celsius, with possible frost on the ground and in the air.

With reference to the frosts, the head of the Meteorological Forecast Directorate specified that there are dangers for vegetation, but they are insignificant.
