Persons who intend to work in the military service by contract or who do the military service within the Ministry of Defense will be subjected to the polygraph test. The draft law providing for this was given a first reading by Parliament, IPN reports.
According to the initiative, the Ministry of Defense will have the right to initiate and carry out testing with the use of the polygraph in the case of persons who intend to enter the military service or who do the military service within the Ministry of Defense.
The draft also provides for the extension of restrictions on contract military service. The candidates will submit a property and personal interest statement in order to remove the risk factors deriving from the non-compliance with the legal regime of incompatibilities, conflicts of interest and the declaration of property and personal interests while of exercising professional duties.
The document also includes aspects regarding disciplinary punishment. Thus, it is proposed to empower the general commander of the General Carabiner Inspectorate to impose disciplinary punishment on subordinate personnel.
The draft law also specifies the status of students in military educational institutions. Students enrolled in the Military College will have the same status as students of other post-secondary vocational technical education institutions. They will be considered in military service by contract, from the moment of entry into force of the military service contract that will be concluded at the age of 18.
