Criminal case started against Matasaru
A criminal case was opened against Anatol Matasaru, who staged a protest in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the Prosecutors Day. According to a communiqué from the institution, Anatol Matasaru protested indecently, violating seriously the public order, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The communiqué says that there are people who erroneously perceive the freedom of expression and the freedom of assembly, while the steps taken by the protester run counter to the legislation.
Anatol Matasaru brought a number of plaster objects in the form of genital organs with him in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office. He put pictures of state functionaries on them. The protester said that he wanted to remind that the prosecutors are corrupt and politicized.
The criminal case was started over hooliganism, which is punished with a fine of 4,000 to 14,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service, or up to three years’ imprisonment.
