A minibus donated by Prime Minister Vlad Filat to a family with many children from Sangera two years ago is at the core of a criminal case within which a number of officials are being questioned. The head of the Customs Service Tudor Balitski was summoned to go to the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) on April 8, IPN reports.
The criminal case was started after a motor importer from whom the vehicle was bought informed the CNA that the over €30,000 hasn’t been yet paid for the car. The man complained that Customs Service officials pressurize him into not claiming the money.
After the April 8 questioning, Tudor Balitski told the journalists that the Customs Service didn’t identify violations or illegalities in this case. “We analyzed the documents and didn’t find violations. We will send all the necessary documents to the CNA. If need be, we will start an internal inquiry,” he stated.
The Government’s secretary general Eduard Banaruc was also questioned in this case.
