Defeats for Iskra and Olimpia, draw for Dacia in Europa League games

Three Moldovan clubs played on Thursday, July 15, in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. Olimpia Balti and Iskra-Stal Rybnista suffered defeats as Dacia Chisinau managed a draw, Info-Prim Neo reports. Olimpia were defeated in Chisinau 0-2 by Dinamo Bucharest. The goals were scored by Cristi Pulhac and Liviu Ganea. Both teams finished the game in 10 men, after Marius Niculae and Alexandru Cheltuiala had been sent off. At the post-match conference, Olimpia manager Nicolae Bunea congratulated the opposite side on a “deserved win”. Dinamo coach Ioan Andone, though not completely satisfied with the performance of his pupils, said the victory has put his side on a “serious” track to qualify for the next round. Iskra-Stal lost 1-2 to Elfsborg at Boras. After a balanced first half, the Swedish club scored two goals in the second, thanks to James Keene and Martin Ericsson. The Rybnitsa-based club marked a late goal through Alexandru Tofan, keeping fair chances for qualification to the next round. The only Moldovan club that didn't lose were Dacia. The Yellow Wolves managed a goalless draw with another Swedish team, Kalmar. The second leg matches are scheduled for next Thursday, July 22. Iskra-Stal and Dacia will play at home as Olimpia will travel to Bucharest.
