The state this year will pay back the money deposited in Sberbank until 1992 by persons born before 1921, who now have 91 years and over, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the first stage, the state refunded by 1 000 lei to the depositors, according to the ratio 1 leu : 1 Soviet ruble. From this year, there will be paid the rest of the sums, according to the ratio 1 leu : 2.5 rubles. A sum of 65 million lei was planned in 2012 for this purpose. 50.7 million lei will be needed to pay back the deposits to persons born before 1921 at the second stage. Another almost 15 million lei was allocated for refunding the first 1 000 lei to depositors who, for different reasons, did not get back the money paid in 2003—2011, said Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta.
