Deputy chief architect of Chisinau under house arrest

The Buiucani Court on June 3 decided to transfer the deputy chief architect of Chisinau, who is investigated in the case of the Chisinau City Hall, from remand detention under house arrest for 25 days. According to the National Anticorruption Center, the court took such a decision given that the servant’s remand detention of 10 days expires on June 4, IPN reports.

On June 2, the Chisinau Appeals Court upheld the decision to place the deputy chief architect of Chisinau in remand for 10 days and the two intermediaries in this case for 20 days. The hearing in the case of the employee of the State Constrictions Inspectorate that was to take place on June 2 was postponed until June 6. The deputy mayor of Chisinau, who was remanded in custody for a period of 25 days, is held at Penitentiary No. 6.

The five persons were arrested within a number of cases started over passive corruption, traffic of influence, falsification of public documents and abuse of power. The functionaries of the Chisinau City Hall are suspected of committing different irregularities in exchange for money, such as hastening the issuing of different documents for selling nonresidential areas and others.
