Entry into Romanian for foreigners and stateless persons continues to be banned. The Moldovans who do not fit the exceptions granted by the Romanian authorities cannot enter the country, IPN reports.
Romania’s Embassy in Chisinau said that among foreigners, the exceptions cover family members of Romanian citizens and of other EU member states or of states of the European Economic Community or of the Swiss Confederation, with residence in Romania, persons with a long-stay visa, a permit of stay or a document equal to the permit of stay issued by the authorities or a document equal to these issued by the authorities of other states, under the EU legislation.
The persons who travel for business and have a visa, permit of stay or another equivalent document, namely medical staffs, medical scientists, medical personnel for geriatric care, carriers and other categories of people involved in freight delivery can enter Romania. The diplomatic or consular personnel, the personnel of international organizations, military personnel or personnel that can ensure humanitarian aid, persons in transit, including those who are repatriated as a result of the provision of consular protection, passengers who travel for imperative purposes and those who need international protection or for other humanitarian reasons are also an exception.
The persons who fit the exceptions and enter Romania do not have to self-isolate. The measure was suspended on July 2, 2020, but can be reintroduced depending on the epidemiological developments in Romania.
All the persons who cross Romania and do not have symptoms typical of the infection with the novel coronavirus, regardless of the country of origin or of destination, are exempted from self-isolation. It is recommended that the transit should be uninterrupted and should go though specially created humanitarian corridors.
The Embassy recommends everyone to permanently inform themselves from official sources about the entrance and stay in Romania before setting off so as not to have to travel back.
