The Moldovans are warned that the Croatian authorities closed seven of the eight checkpoints on the border with Serbia. These are: Tovarnik, Ilok, Ilok 2, Principovac, Principovac 2, Batina, and Erdut. The border can be now crossed only through the Bajakovo checkpoint that is situated on the Belgrade-Zagreb highway, IPN reports.

At to railway traffic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova said all the passenger trains on the Croatia-Slovenia route were suspended, including the trains that went to countries in Western Europe and those that crossed Slovenia. The trains running on the internal route Vinkovci - Vukovar were also suspended and the transportation is ensured by buses. Owing to the massive flow of migrants, problems were witnessed at the railway terminal in Tovarnik, which is situated near the border crossing point between Croatia and Serbia, on the Belgrade-Zagreb railway route. The Croatian authorities haven’t yet taken a decision as to the suspension of the railway traffic on the Belgrade-Zagreb route.

Given that the situation can change any time, the Moldovans who intend to travel to Croatia are recommended to visit the websites where the information is constantly updated, namely: www.hak.hr; www.hznet.hr; www.portauthority.hr; www.ccaa.hr.

The Ministry also informs that the Hungarian authorities decreed a state of crisis for another four cantons in southwestern Hungary - Zala, Vas, Baranya, and Somogy – from today, September 18, 8am. The given measure will be in force at most until March 18. On September 15, the Hungarian legislation on illegal migration was modified so that the persons who illegally cross the Hungarian border face up to five years behind bars.
