Local authorities in Chisinau have initiated a plan to support students in preparing for secondary school exams. The plan includes free extra tuition, thematic materials, guides and follow-up sessions with institutions.
Valentin Crudu, deputy head of the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport, Valentin Crudu, told IPN that the plan is aimed at students graduating this year from secondary school and that special attention will be paid to preparing for the math exam.
DGETS will also organize mentoring and counseling sessions to involve parents.
"It's not only the school that is responsible (for students' success), but also the parents, who also have to make an effort to help their children pass the exams," emphasized Valentin Crudu.
As for the free extra classes, which will be conducted both physically and online, the deputy head of the directorate specified that they will be moderated by the teachers of educational institutions, within the school program. Teachers will not be paid extra for their work.
DGETS advises educational institutions and teachers to work intensively with each pupil, to carry out comparative analysis of the results and to cooperate with child protection institutions to support pupils with social difficulties.
