The Moldovan Association of ICT Companies and the National Confederation of Employers support the digitization of the sick leave certificate. The subject was discussed at Working Group No. 4 of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, IPN reports.

The participants noted that employers and employees face multiple difficulties, including non-presentation of the sick leave certificate on time, incorrect declaration of data in the medical certificate, loss of the certificate or incorrect completion of it, which leads to additional recalculations and corrections. These problems generate additional costs of time and resources, affecting both the efficiency of accounting and the level of compliance with the requirements of the State Tax Service. The digitization of the sick leave certificate would reduce bureaucracy by eliminating the need to apply stamps and fill-out manually and would simplify the process of transmitting data between the employee, the employer and the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS). It would also increase the transparency and accuracy of the declared data and reduce the risks of error in tax and administrative declarations.

Present at the event, the CNAS representatives said they support the digitization of this service, noting that improving the portal of sick leave certificates can be a solution in this regard. For their part, the representatives of the National Health Insurance Company said that the digitization of medical certificates can greatly simplify not only the work of employers, but also the work of family doctors as the bureaucratic actions will be reduced.

During the debates, it was decided to discuss this topic further in order to agree the institutions that could come up with digital and normative solutions to overcome this challenge.
