After over two years, the opera "Don Giovanni” will be again performed
on the stage of the National Opera Theater in Chisinau. "We will delight
again the public with this famous opera," Larisa Casap, the head of the
Theater's artistic impresario division, stated for Info-Prim Neo. The
performance marks the 255th anniversary of the birth of the well-known
composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The opera is based on a Spanish legend about Don Giovanni, who was an
adventurer and ladies' man. The legend was a source of inspiration for a
large number of poets and composers, including Mozart.
The opera is directed by Emeritus Master of Art Eleonora Constantinov.
It involves such artsist as Marina Radis, who will play the role of
Donna Anna, Sergiu Cheaichevshchuk – Leporello, Rodica Picireanu – Donna
Elvira etc. The leading role is played by Emeritus Artist Iurie Gasca.
The choir and orchestra of the National Opera conducted by Nicolae
Dohotaru will also perform in the opera.
The opera will be presented on January 29 starting at 18.00. Prices cost
between 30 and 180 lei.
