Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean, after the June 19 meeting of the Government, told the press that no discussions about his appointment as ambassador to a foreign country was discussed. But, if such an offer is made to him, he will not accept it as he planned to do a lot at the Ministry of the Interior and the initiated reforms require increased effort from him and other employees of the Ministry.

As to the accident in which he was involved last week, the minister said the pictures taken by a TV channel show that the car was driven by hum, not his deputy, while the tests showed that he didn’t drink alcohol and the speed was within the limit.

“Immediately after the accident, I took all the necessary steps, without exception, and those of your colleagues who writer about this can and should collect facts,” he said, referring to the different press reports that appeared about the accident. Recean said he is not angry that the media focus on such cases as the public servants must bear responsibility for what they do.
