The drivers of motor vehicles are obliged to travel with the lights on during the day as well in the period between November 1 and March 31.
Press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Natalia Golovko has told IPN that the obligation to travel with the lights on is stipulated in the Road Traffic Regulations and, even if no fines are imposed for non-compliance, the drivers who will forget to turn the lights on will be stopped for being warned.
According to specialists, international practices show the turning on of the lights during the day in this period of the year is necessary because of the unstable weather and poor visibility. When it is fog, the drivers must additionally switch on the anti-fog lights if the vehicle has such lights. The drivers should also adjust the speed to the weather conditions.
