EBRD road rehabilitation agreement gets Chisinau Council's endorsement

Almost two months after the signing of a €22 million agreement for road rehabilitation between the Chisinau municipality and EBRD, the City Council today has finally gave its formal endorsement to the project, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project aims to fully rehabilitate 6 streets in central Chisinau, starting this springs. These streets are Stefan cel Mare, Constantin Negruzzi, Tighina, Vasile Alecsandri, 31August and Alexandru cel Bun. The loan is offered for a period of 10 years, with a grace period of 2 years and at an interest rate of 5%. The financing agreement was signed on December 2 by Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and EBRD President Thomas Mirow during the latter's official visit to Moldova. A condition for the loan was the formal approval of the City Council, which took nearly two months to fulfill because of the Council's failure to assemble for a deliberative meeting until today.
