The employees will be able to ask for information about the remuneration levels, depending on gender, for work of equal value. For their part, the employers will be obliged to inform salary earners or their representative, at least once in two years, about the average remuneration per categories of employees or posts, according to gender. This is provided in a bill to amend the Labor Code, the law on the ensuring of equal chances between women and men and the law on the ensuring of equality, which was approved by the responsible committee, IPN reports.
The bill proposed by MP Doina Gherman introduces such notions as “remuneration”, “equal pay” and “work of equal value” in the law on the ensuring of equality.
The draft law is designed to transpose to the national legislation to commitments undertaken in the field through the Moldova – EU Association Agreement.
