Employment opportunities for unemployed people from Balti

One more Career Development Centre that will train qualified unemployed people, Moldovan emigrants who returned to the country and graduates to get a job in Moldova, was launched in the Balti municipality in the framework of the “Innovative entrepreneurship for sustainable employment” Project, implemented by the United National Development Programme in Moldova (UNDP) with the support of SYSLAB International and the Ministry of External Affairs of Norway, IPN reports.

The centre launched today in Balti is the fourth such centre in the country; similar ones are operational in Chisinau, Cahul and Rezina, in which over 200 people benefitted from training and individual consultations and finally were employed. The centres apply the SYSLAB methodology, developed by SYSLAB International AS from Norway, which combines team work, advice and professional training, promotion of entrepreneurship and establishment of partnership networks between employers and potential employees.

In 2014 the unemployment rate in Moldova was 5.1%, lower in comparison with the previous year (5.6%). The unemployment rate among men was 6.03%, compared to 4.14% among women. Rural areas do not offer many employment opportunities, and due to migration and informal employment, the unemployment rate is lower - 4.05% in 2014.
