Eugen Doga's sixth suite to be premiered April 7
The sixth suite of Master Eugen Doga will have its premiere during a concert titled “My White City” that will be given in Chisinau on April 7.
The composer has told Info-Prim Neo that it were the April 7, 2009 events that motivated him to write this work. “When I started to compose the suite, I felt smell of incense and tried to establish where it was coming from. I determined that it was coming from the central square of Chisinau, from those young men who risked their lives,” said the master.
Eugen Doga stated it was his sixth suite. “I caught the signals sent by the feelings that are inside us and began to write,” he said.
The composer expects that the April 7 concert “My White City” will be watched by those who went to the Great National Assembly Square two years ago to defend their future. “This suite and this concert are homage rendered to those who took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with what was going on and their concerns about tomorrow. I feel the same. We worry about one thing – our common future. This is the essence of the concert,” he said.
The concert will involve the National Chamber Orchestras, the Orchestra of the Organ Hall conducted by Cristian Florea, and starting musicians.
