The European Film Festival is taking place in Moldova for the first time. The movies will be screened as part of the Europe Day activities in Moldova over May 10-13, Info-Prim Neo. reports “During the four days, the Embassies of the EU member states will show 11 pictures that will familiarize the public in Moldova with the panorama of the new movie in the Old Wolrd,” Head of the EU Delegetaion to Moldova Dirk Schuebel said in a press briefing on May 10. The European Film Festival opened with the Hungarian movie “Puskas”, given that Hungary holds the presidency of the European Union. The UK's picture “Round Ireland with a Fridge” will close the program. Dirk Schuebel said the Moldovan people will be able to learn the European cultural values through the diversity and beauty of their identity. Eleven EU Embassies will present by a national movie within the first European Film Festival in Moldova. According to Dirk Schuebel, the interaction between the public and Tony Hawks, comedian and author of the bestseller “Playing the Moldovans at Tennis”, will be the surprise of the festival.
