European Melanoma Day to be marked in Moldova
The European Melanoma Day will be celebrated in Moldova on May 25, for the first time. Three consultancy centers will work in Chisinau, Cahul and Balti on this day. The opportunity is given to the general public to have a free-of-charge screening of their moles by a dermatologist and an oncologist, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the organizational committee of the event.
As a result of the examinations, the doctors will fill out a standard European questionnaire that will be used in the national and international statistics.
The three centers will be located at: – 5/1 Costiujeni St, of. 12, Chisinau; 66 Ioan Voda cel Cumplit St, of. 5, Cahul; and 101 Decebal St, of. 415, Balti.
Euro-Melanoma is a pan-European prevention campaign against skin cancer, which is organised by dermatologists in over 28 countries. In Moldova, it is supported by the Assocoation of Dermatologists and Cosmetologists Dermato-Cosmed in partneship with the Oncology Institute.
