Four Chisinau young men, ages ranging from 17 to 22, were arrested on suspicion of putting forged 100 lei notes into circulation.

Most often, the suspects would put the fake money into circulation by paying at shops, marketplaces, drugstores and filling stations. Only the minors were used to physically pass the fake money, the police said.

The Chisinau police are asking the members of the public to watch out for fake banknotes and call 902 whenever they see suspicious ones.
