Fewer persons to receive compensations for heat in Chisinau
The Government will provide compensations for heat to about 96,000 families in Moldova, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. Only in the municipality of Chisinau alone, there are over 30,000 pensioners and invalids. Besides, there are other groups of deprived persons, including families with many children.
The head of the Chisinau Social Assistance Division Eugenia Ceban has told Info-Prim Neo that last year the compensation for heat of 130 lei a month was provided based on lists. There were about 73,000 persons entitled to such aid in the municipality of Chisinau. This year only 2 230 persons can benefit from compensations, according to the set of required documents. The figure may rise by 300-500 persons more.
Eugenia Ceban said the potential recipients must file an application accompanied by about 20 documents showing that they are in a difficult financial situation. After collecting all the necessary documents, the applicants may be rejected as they should also declare the property – the TV set, the washing machine and others.
The Social Assistance Division continues to accept applications, but considers that only 3,000-4,000 families in need will benefit from compensations for heat from the state. “We must immediately demand that the given decision (Government Decision of October 12 – e.n.) be abrogated so that the compensation of 150 lei a month is paid based on lists,” said Eugenia Ceban.
Under the Government Decision of October 12, compensations for heat will be offered to families whose incomes are lower than the state guaranteed minimum income of 573 lei multiplied by the coefficient of 1.4. Those who receive social welfare will be automatically provided with such compensations during November 2011 − March 2012.
