Filip Teodorescu has to leave Moldova within 24 hours

Romanian ambassador to Chisinau Filip Teodorescu and the advising-minister of the embassy, Ioan Gaborean, have to leave Moldova within 24 hours, after the Moldovan authorities declared them persona non grata on April 8, Info-Prim Neo quotes a press release of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry. Also today, the Romanian Foreign Ministry announced its position as to the latest decisions of the Moldovan authorities. The Romanian Ministry underlines that Romania will not respond with similar actions concerning the personnel of the Moldovan embassy to Bucharest and will maintain the free visa system for the Moldovan citizens. The Romanian Foreign Ministry categorically rejects the accusations made by the Moldovan authorities on Romania's alleged involvements in Moldova's domestic affairs. The Romanian Foreign Ministry underlines this accusation is a provocation against the Romanian state. “It's unacceptable that the Communist power from Chisinau should transfer the responsibility for the domestic problems from Moldova to Romania and its citizens,” reads a release of the Ministry. The Romanian Foreign Ministry also considers as aberrant the unilateral travel restrictions announced by Vladimir Voronin. “Romania has consistently supported Moldova's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and will continue to display a European approach in its relations with the neighboring state, despite the anti-Romanian policy of the Communist authorities from Chisinau,” reads the communique. The Ministry made this position known to its partners in the EU and NATO.
