The organization and carrying out of activities through which the people are persuaded to deposit or collect money, which are not registered and authorized in accordance with the law, will be punished with a fine of 2 000 to 3 000 lei for private individuals and of 8 000 to 10 000 lei for legal entities. The relevant amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses were endorsed by the Government. In fact, it approved a new article – 263, based on a legislative initiative submitted by a group of MPs. According to the bill authors, the ensuing of financial security at the current social development stage becomes a problem of major importance and the introduction of fines for designing pyramidal schemes is a primary necessity.
