An apartment from a five-story building situated in Balti town caught fire in the afternoon of February 11. Six persons, among whom a child, were evacuated from the building after the dense smoke spread on the upper floors, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, when on the spot the firemen established that the fire extended from an apartment located on the second floor of the block. As a result, six persons were evacuated because they risked being poisoned by fumes. The fire destroyed things in one room of the apartment.

The cause and other circumstances of the fire are yet to be found out. The people are urged to call the 901 service in emergencies.
