A supermarket situated on Moscovei Blvd in Chisinau caught fire in the afternoon of December 3. The flames destroyed 150 square meters of the shop’s roof.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the firefighters were alerted at 2:15pm. Three special vehicles travelled to the scene and the fire was localized in about 20 minutes. Nobody was hurt. The visitors of the supermarket were evacuated before the firefighters arrived.

Allegedly, the fire was caused by a short circuit. An investigation is under way.
