During the first admission week, the national universities collected over 15,000 applications. According to the information provided by admission commissions, more than 14,000 persons applied for budget-funded places, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Education said most of the applications were submitted at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, and the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare”.
Among private universities, the largest number of applications were accepted by the University of European Studies of Moldova, the Corporatist Commercial University of Moldova, and the University of European Political and Economic Studies.
The most popular specialties are: finances and banks; accounting; general medicine; dentistry; pharmacy; law; foreign languages; information technology, and architecture.
Admission to universities started on July 20. The admission plan for this year envisions almost 18,000 places, over 6,000 of which are budget-funded ones.
The deadline for applications is July 28, 2015. The preliminary results will be posted on universities’ websites and on posters.
