An outlaw music festival will take place in Moldova for the first time. Themed “At the place of the Outlaw”, the event will bring together 15 men’s folklore bands in Tahnauti village of Rezina district on August 18.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Culture Division of the Rezina District Council Angela Racu stated that the festival aims to carry on and promote the outlaw songs. “Unfortunately, the men’s folklore bands in Moldova are decreasing in number and the festival is designed to change this situation. After we announced the organization of the festival, seven such bands were created in Rezina district during three months,” said Angela Racu.
She also said that the festival will involve men’s folklore bands from eight districts of the country and craftsmen. The event will include a contest of mayors titled “This is my native place”. The mayors from Rezina district will present the cultural potential of their settlements and will thus promote handicrafts.
The festival will take place in the recreational area ““At the place of the Outlaw”, starting at 9am.
