Folkloric festival “At the Green Codru’s Foot” in Straseni

The national folkloric festival “At the Green Codru’s Foot” has been held in the forest of Straseni district on the occasion of the Independence Day for four years. This year, the festival that will take place on August 28 will bring together 16 national ensembles and two ensembles from Romania. Contacted by de Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Straseni Council’s Culture and Tourism Division Claudia Nistor said the folkloric ensembles will perform music of the region from which they come. There will be also sung patriotic songs as the event is dedicated to the Independence Day and this year it is 20 years of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. ”Every area has its own traditions and when the festival is held, we have the occasion of seeing other nice customs. All the well-known folkloric ensembles have been invited to the concert, but only those who are able to come will take part,” said Claudia Nistor. A craftsmen’s fair will be staged as part of the festival. The person who will present the most beautiful item will receive a prize from the organizers. Entrance to the concert is free of charge. “All those who want to listen to national Romanian music and uncover the secrets of the Moldovan culture are invited to the event,” said Claudia Nistor. The Straseni District Council has allocated 50,000 lei for the event.
