The residents of Chisinau municipality will be able to take a free blood sugar level test on November 14, when it is celebrated World Diabetes Day. The event is staged by the Chisinau City Hall in partnership with a series of NGOs at the local medical associations, IPN reports.

Thus, between 9am and 12 noon on November 14, the inhabitants of the municipality can have their blood glucose level tested at the municipal health institutions. A screening point will be set up inside the Chisinau City Hall for the administration of the municipality.

In Moldova, diabetes represents 46-48% of the endocrinal, nutrition and metabolism diseases. According to statistics, the mortality caused by diabetes in 2014 was 10.6 per 100,000 residents.
