Galina Moscalciuc will continue to judge Perju’s case

Prosecutor Valeriu Mosneaga’s request to replace the judge who is examining the case of the suspended police officer Ion Perju was rejected. As a result of deliberations, the court ruled that the request is unfounded, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The prosecutor Tuesday asked substituting judge Galina Moscalciuc as she demonstrates lack of impartiality. Ion Perju is accused of beating Valeriu Boboc in the Great National Assembly Square during the April 7, 2009 protests. As a result of the received injures, the young man died. The suspended police officer is under house arrest. The prosecutor repeatedly demanded that the defendant be remanded in custody.
