An innovatory institution for the vocational education system will be created with the support of the German partners in the Straseni subzone of the Balti Free Economic Zone. The project was approved in the November 14 meeting of the Government, IPN reports.

According to Deputy Minister of Education Igor Grosu, there will be implemented the dual specialist training system that will reduce the discrepancy between the expectations of employers and the offer of the national education system, because the students will learn the secrets of the job not only from theory, but also from practice, directly at companies. In Germany and Austria, this dual system for training specialists produced very good results.

The studies will last for three years. In the period, there will be trained specialists in mechatronics, industrial engineering and management. The authors of the project anticipate that immediately after graduation, about 90% of the graduates will be employed as medium-rank managers, first of all at the partner companies with German capital from Moldova. These will contribute money to training specialists also for other industrial units and organizations of Moldova.

The total cost of the project is €3.7 million, for an integral course of studies with the duration of three years. The Government of Moldova will provide allocations per student, equal to the costs for maintaining a student in any other institution. The contribution of the Ministry of Education is about €90,000, which is almost 2.3% of the total budget allocated for 30 annual budget places during three years of study. The modern equipment will be provided by the German Federal Enterprise for
International Cooperation (GIZ).

For the implementation of the project, cooperation agreements were signed with the Ilmenau University of Technology and the Eisenach Academy of Germany. The new institution is expected to start work in July 2015.
