Ex-president of Banca de Economii Grigore Gachkevich, who also headed the Lending Committee, was arrested within a criminal case concerning violation of the lending rules, IPN reports.

The National Anticorruption Center said Grigore Gachkevich will be initially held for 72 hours at the Center’s remand unit.

On May 22, anticorruption officers and prosecutors carry out investigative measures within criminal cases concerning provision of bad loans by the former administration of Banca de Economii and of Banca Sociala.
