Hancesti’s City Hall has been fighting the irregularities at the local market for 9 years now. Although being forced by several Divisions of the sector to eradicate all issues, and create comfortable conditions for sellers and buyers, the market’s administration refuses to comply, says the city’s Mayor. Alexandru Botnari stated in a press conference on Friday, June 29, that even a court ruled for bringing the market in order, but the situation continues to be a disaster, reports Info-Prim Neo. The Mayor mentioned that he has been trying for 9 years to force the administration of the market to create good functioning conditions, but it was all in vain. “The roof in the hall with meat and dairy products is leaking; there is dust on the floor, it hasn’t been paved with terracotta. There are minutes of the Veterinary and Sanitary Division which clearly state what must be done, but no actions have been taken”, stated Alexandru Botnari. According to the Mayor, local authorities tried conversing with the market’s administration numerous times, but without result. Year after year claims were filed to the Veterinary-Sanitary Division, the Center for Public Health, the Environmental Inspection, the Police Commissariat, but nothing has been done, says Alexandru Botnari. According to him, there is no centralized sewage system in the market, and the toilet waste flows directly into the river. “Last year, controls were finally made, and 10 minutes, for the removal of all obstacles, were written, but it also yielded no results. In October, last year, local authorities realized that they have no support from the responsible structures and filed with a court to close the market until all irregularities have been removed”, noted the Mayor. The court ruled in favor of the local authorities, but the market’s administration filed with the Court of Appeals. The higher court kept the decision of the first court, but the market continues to operate. “The court forced them to cease activity until all irregularities disappear. Even the Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the local authorities. I cannot understand why even a court’s ruling does not make justice”, said the Mayor. The Mayor asked the relevant institutions to act on this case, in order to rid the Hancesti market of irregularities and illegalities.
