Head of Anti-Corruption Prosecution has two new deputies

The head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalina, has two new deputies. They are Mariana Leahu and Victor Muntean, appointed by order of the Prosecutor General. The decision is to be confirmed by the Superior Council of Prosecutors, IPN reports.

Mariana Leahu has more than 17 years of professional experience in the prosecutor's office. She started her work as a prosecutor in 2007 in the Prosecutor's Office of the Buiucani district of Chisinau municipality, being responsible for the area of conducting criminal prosecution and representing the state prosecution in the lower courts. In 2016, after a longer delegation, she was transferred to the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office. In 2017, with the internal organization of the work by areas, she was assigned to the judicial section, where she has been working until now, managing high-profile cases, including criminal cases from the pending ,,Bank Fraud" case.

Victor Muntean has over 20 years of professional experience in the Prosecutor's Office. He started his activity in 2003 as an interim investigator of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Balti municipality, later being appointed prosecutor of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Balti in 2004. From 2007 to the present, he worked as a prosecutor in the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office. He has prosecuted in criminal cases of resonance. These include the criminal case against the former interim president of the Savings Bank in the "Bank Fraud" case, the criminal case against the former interim general director of the state enterprise "Chisinau International Airport", etc.

During the vetting process, the deputies of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office are appointed in interim positions.
