On the National Army Day, the soldiers in garrisons will have candies in their menu and will start the program one hour later. The military men, except those who are on duty, will have a rest day, Info-Prim Neo reports “The army cannot close its doors for a whole day. The servicemen are always on duty, but there will be a holiday atmosphere in all the garrisons,” Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta told a news conference on Friday. According to the minister, the National Army will continue to honor its duty of fundamental state institution and will defend the country even when the budget is in deficit, while the Moldovans must have confidence in the army. “The servicemen of the National Army aim to ensure the country’s security first and then decent living conditions for their families. They are devoted to the country and swore to always protect it,” said Vitalie Marinuta. He also said that the military men are the best envoys of Moldova as they prove professionalism and devotion in all the activities in which they take part. The Ministry of Defense prepared a program to celebrate 20 years of the foundation of the National Army. It issued an album that can serve as a visiting card in the country and abroad. The album is bilingual, Romanian-English. There will be also given a festive concert and laid flowers at the Monument to Stephan the Great and at the memorial complex “Eternity”. Activities will be also staged in garrisons.
