Hundreds of carolers at Parliament: "It's time for carols"

Hundreds of carolers and performers from various localities brought the magic of the winter holidays to Parliament, transforming the institution into a celebration of tradition. Children, youth, and the elderly spread the joy of Christmas through carols, festive greetings, and traditional customs during the event "It's Time for Carols," dedicated to ancestral traditions, IPN reports.

Folk ensembles from different regions of Moldova showcased the most beautiful Christmas traditions to Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff. Ensembles such as "Perla Basarabiei" from Chisinau, "La Stanca" from Criuleni, and "Vatra Satului" from Calarasi impressed with their authentic interpretations of carols and customs specific to each region.

The event featured special performances by choirs and musical groups, including the "Renaissance" Women’s Chamber Choir and the "Gavriil Musicescu" Academic Choir of the Metropolis of Bessarabia. Smaller ensembles from regions such as Falesti, Stefan Voda, and Ocnita also contributed by presenting age-old customs like "Malanca".

A particularly moving moment came from students of the Special School No. 12 for Hearing-Impaired and Late Deafness in Chisinau, who performed a carol in sign language. Additionally, Carolina Furtuna, a student from Chisinau, paid tribute to Moldovan traditions by singing a carol inspired by memories from Italy, where she lived until the age of seven.

Traditions of Bulgarian and Gagauz communities were also celebrated, with folk ensembles from Ceadîr-Lunga, Taraclia, and Chișinău delivering captivating performances. Refugee children from Ukraine, now residing in Chisinau and the village of Nihoreni, participated in the event as well.

Parliament welcomed each group and commended their efforts to promote traditional values.
