Hunting where Sorin Paciu was shot involved over 30 persons
The hunting in the Domneasca Forest on December 23, when Sorin Paciu was wounded fatally, involved two groups of hunters. Each group comprised 16 members, including 9 marksmen. The information was provided by the director of the National Agency “Moldsilva” Ion Lupu in a press release, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Ion Lupu, one group was headed by Valentin Svestun, guard engineer at the Domneasca Forest, while the other one by Denis Eremciuc, director of the reserve “Padurea Domneasca”. The first group consisted of Sorin Paciu, Valeriu Svestun, Ghenadie Sajin, Gheorghe Cretu and others, while the second group included Valeriu Zubko, and Ion Plesca.
After the tragic incident, the hunting was halted and access to the area was banned. Immediately after the happening, the young man was taken to the Falesti district hospital and the law enforcement bodies were informed about it so that they investigated the case. The man died in two days. According to the information furnished by Valeriu Svestun, who is an employee of the reserve “Padurea Domneasca”, there were Ghenadie Sajin and Gheorghe Cretu in the area where the shot was fired.
The case became known on January 6, when politician Sergiu Mocanu accused Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko of shooting Sorin Paciu. The Falesti prosecutors announced that they suspect the vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu of injuring the man and that they were waiting for the Supreme Council of Magistrate’s consent to indicting him.
