Iacob Capcelea tendered his resignation from the post of director of the Chisinau Urban But Company following a request to this effect made by acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality Silvia Radu, IPN reports.

The request was made after videos of a bus transporting passengers with a hole in the floor, through which the asphalt could be seen, were disseminated by the media. Iacob Capcelea argued that the Chisinau Municipal Council during ten years hasn’t allocated money for renewing the buses, but many of these have been used for longer than normal.

A number of drivers working for the company protested against the acting mayor general’s request, saying they have only words of praise for their manager.

The Chisinau Electric Transport Company will also remain without a manager. The term in office of Gheorghe Morgoci expired, but was extended until March 10.
