Police captain Alexandru Tentiu, who is a sector inspector, was promoted to the rank of major by an order issued by Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu. He was promoted for the promptness with which he dealt with an incident on April 19, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Ministry of the Interior says the decision is in line with the reformation of the institution. Under the reform, the police officers who will prove promptness, commitment and assiduity in the daily work, for the people’s benefit, will be awarded and promoted. On the other hand, those who will not appropriately fulfill their duties, showing disinterest and a delayed reaction to the people’s calls, will be punished correspondingly. An internal inquiry was launched into the behavior of the other employees of the Ministry of the Interior, whom Alexandru Tentiu asked to provide assistance in solving the problem. Several days ago, Alexandru Tentiu was asked by a person to intervene and help him get out his car that was blocked by vehicles of the employees of a private company in front of its head office and by the car of the Mayor of Sangera Valeriu Poiata. As the company’s administration did not react to the officer’s request, Alexandru Tentiu sought help from colleagues from the Traffic Police. Instead of helping him, they laughed at him. In a meeting, Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked Alexandru Tentiu for his exemplary behavior while on duty.
