1500 lei, that’s the price for Santa to visit you on New Year’s Eve, right at midnight or in the following hours. Those who want to save some money can wait a couple of days after the New Year’s Eve, when fees will drop. The prices are also smaller in the morning until noon, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In order to call Santa to a kindergarten or a school party, the fee is 300 lei per hour or 500 lei if Snow White comes as well. The gifts are also paid by the parents.
There are few companies in Chisinau that offer such services. Most of the people dressed as Santa work individually, without authorizations. Usually, they are students trying to earn some spare money during the holidays or even professional actors. In order to convince their customers, they can show their diploma of studies and offer phone numbers where the customers can get recommendations for this particular Santa.
Vladimir Nirca, head of the municipal Trade and Services Division, told Info-Prim Neo that Santas’ activity is not under the control of local authorities. The City Hall doesn’t issue authorizations, nor does it monitor their activity. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy offered the same answer.
Adrian Jovmir, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, advises people to be careful. If they don’t use a professional company, they should at least check the ID of the person that will enter their houses dressed as Santa.
