Ion Caras aims for victory against England
Moldova manager Ion Caras thinks that the Moldovan football players can hope for a victory in their first World Cup qualifying match against England on September 7, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is another chance to prove ourselves against a strong adversary”, Ion Caras told a press conference Monday.
Even though he admits the power and value of the English team, Caras aims only for victory against the Brits. “They are not coming to Chisinau to brag about their stars. They are coming here with a single thought in mind: to obtain victory. Actually, this is the same thing that we want. Unity, discipline and sacrifice are the advantages with which we can obtain a good result”, said the manager.
Ion Caras says that the best players have been called up for the match, with a few exceptions from the Dacia and Zimbru teams. “Before the friendlies in May, I was meanly betrayed by the leadership of these teams. Seven football players from Zimbru and Dacia were not allowed to come play for the national team. That is why I have decided that I will not call up their players any longer, because of their club leadership”, said Caras.
The Moldova vs. England will be played on Friday, September 7 at 21:45 on the Zimbru stadium in Chisinau. All of the tickets have already been sold out.
