Last picture of European Film Festival gets rounds of applause
The last movie screened as part of the European Film Festival - “Round Ireland with a Fridge” – received rapturous applause. The surprise of the evening was the interaction with actor and director of the picture Tony Hawks, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The movie is based on a real event. While on a visit in Ireland, Tony Hawks saw an old man travelling with a fridge. He decided to bet a friend of his £100 that he will make a tour of Ireland carrying a fridge with him.
Tony Hawks impressed the public with his skilful handling of a golf club. He said the money he will make from the next picture – “Playing the Moldovans at Tennis” – will be invested in the Recovery Center “Hippocrates” that he founded in Moldova together with the British organization Child Aid. Tony Hawks urged the spectators to make donations to this center.
“Round Ireland with a Fridge” closed the European Film Festival that took place in Chisinau between May 10 and 13.
