Lawyer Ilie Rotaru requests an audience with the Prime Minister Maia Sandu in order to solve the problems related to the situation at JSC "Gemeni", where he is a shareholder. According to the lawyer, in July he received, as well as the Government and other defendants, a notification from the ECHR that they can negotiate a reconciliation on the issue regarding the commercial company’s shares.

At a press conference with IPN, Ilie Rotaru said that for seven years his file and complaint addressed to the European Court of Human Rights "did not make any progress". However, only a week after the change of government in Chisinau, the ECHR announced that his request was accepted for substance of the matter examination and granted him a deadline to negotiate with the Government. "I tried to negotiate with the Government, with different Government employees, I also addressed the Prime Minister, but in vain. Everyone ignored all my requests, insolently ignoring the ECHR indications as well,” said Ilie Rotaru.

The lawyer claims that, for more than 15 years, "he is being practically persecuted on daily basis by those in power, who want to put him in jail at all costs."

According to him, "in order to comply with the ECHR indications regarding the amicable settlement", he addressed the government agent, and then the prime minister, but so far there has been no reaction.

Previously, the lawyer stated that one of the cases against him was fabricated after he made public "the dispossession of assets at" Gemeni by Vladimir Voronin and Vlad Plahotniuc". Ilie Rotaru, who is also a former manager and shareholder of JSC "Gemenii", says that, in 2006, the legal shareholders were replaced with persons named by the two politicians.
