Prosecutors arrested a lecturer of the Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare” of the Ministry of the Interior after carrying out searches in his office and at his home within a criminal case started last November, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the arrested person is suspected of acting in collusion with inspectors and other employees of the Information Resources Center “Registru” to gain money. These asked for €350 to €1,000 for helping applicants to pass the car theory and practical driving tests and obtain a driver’s license.
The lecturer faces five to ten years in jail, a fine of 300,000 to 400,000 lei and ban on holding particular public posts or performing particular activities for a period of seven to ten years.
