Level of Nistru water up 50cm

The level of water in the Nistru River increased by 50 centimeters following the precipitation that fell in Ukraine and the rise in the volume of water released from the Dnestrovsk reservoir, Alexandru Coronovschi, deputy division head at Moldova’s Water Agency, has told IPN.

According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, the level of water is expected to rise near Dubasari town, by 0.9-1.6 meters, and at the mouth of the river, by 0.5-10 meters.

Earlier today, the Border Police announced that the wharf-like border crossing points Cosauti-Iampoli and Soroca-Tekinovka stopped work following a rise in the level of Nistru water. The drivers who planned to cross the border through the mentioned points are urged to go to other customs posts located in close proximity.
