List of persons who advise President on pardoning issues published

The new composition of the commission for convict pardoning working under the President of the Republic of Moldova was published in the Official Gazette on February 9, IPN reports.

The commission will continue to be headed by composer Gheorghe Mustea, artistic director and first conductor of the National Symphonic Orchestra of “Teleradio-Moldova” Company. The post of deputy chairman will be occupied by Nicolae Posturusu, deputy secretary general of the Staff of the President of Moldova. The duties of secretary will be carried out by Alexandru Ohotnicov, head of the General Law Division of the President’s Staff.

Another four members of the commission are: Ioan Plamadeala, bishop of the Chisinau Cathedral “Transfiguration of Jesus Christ”; Dumitru Pulbere, ex-president of the Constitutional Court; Doctor of Pedagogy Otilia Stamatin, lecturer at the State Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga”, and Doctor of Medicine Constantin Turcan.

The commission for convict pardoning working under the President of the Republic of Moldova was created in 1994 and initially had nine members.
