The Government adopted a decision concerning the allocation of financial resources for providing lump sums to certain categories of people from the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti and from Rascani district, who obtained letters of guarantee to benefit from preferential loans in the period between 2005 and 2009, but didn’t receive them. The money will be offered for building, purchasing or restoring homes, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Finance will transfer 247,900 lei to the local public authorities from the state budget.

The lump sums are intended for persons who were affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, participants in the Afghan war and in the war for defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Moldova, participants in World War II, victims of political repression and the members of their families.
