Macaresti village risks being flooded
Macaresti village of Ungheni district is in danger of being flooded following the increase in the level of water in the Prut, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Government.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat, accompanied by Minister of the Interior Victor Catan and the head of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Mihai Harabagiu, visited Macaresti, demanding that the local authorities mobilize more efficiently the resources they have and ease the burden of the soldiers, border guards and employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
Mihai Harabagiu said the soldiers, border guards and employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service work round the clock to build up protection barrages, stressing the situation is now under control. He also said the dams will continue to be fortified so as to prevent floods in the future.
Premier Vlad Filat instructed officials of the district administration and the local public authorities to travel to the scene and take the necessary protection measures, demanding that the situation in the area is permanently monitored.
