Minister of Education Maia Sandu said that Valentin Crudu was dismissed from the post of head of the General Division of Preschool, Primary and Secondary-General Education on December 20 for the reason that he exceeded his authority when he signed a number of contracts and service receipt documents that he was not empowered to sign, Info-Prim Neo reports. The minister told the journalists on December 21 that Valentin Crudu knew that he would be dismissed. “I had a discussion with Mister Crudu before he went on sick leave again,” said Maia Sandu. According to the minister, Ion Sobari, who heads the Economic Policy, Patrimony and Finances Division, will also be discharged in connection with certain bookkeeping irregularities. But a dismissal order cannot be yet signed because the functionary is on childcare leave. Maia Sandu said the performance of a number of employees of the Education Ministry will be assessed. They will also be dismissed if it turns out that they do not do their job. A contest will be announced to fill the post of head of the General Division of Preschool, Primary and Secondary-General Education.
